I've been a fan of Sony's Walkman ever since they came out way back when. Anyway. I liked this player so much that this is my second one! For the money it's a good player, long battery life, with a pretty short recharge time. All the down sides that many other reviewers have written about I would have to agree with. I do agree that you would think that after all this time that Sony has been making these players that Sony would have fixed the way you edit songs, and play lists - it is a real pain! The drag and drop doesn't always put things where you would expect (want) them to go, and after a while I just accepted this down side.

Great value at ~ for 16gb, tactile controls, and good overall quality

Problems
1. They claim 30 hours of music playback. I use it when exercising, so I (nearly) max out volume and do max out screen brightness, and also tend to change songs every 5 min or so. So I don't expect 30 hours. But I only end up getting 4-5 hours with that type of usage.
2. Buggy transfer: I hate itunes so the drag-drop feature using windows explorer is great. But it's buggy, often dropping songs when it's too "busy." Have to doublecheck to make sure all songs were there. Also doesn't allow you to sometimes change folder names. Hard to make changes to folders while it's uploading anything
3. I spent 3-4 hours testing file formats and file conversion software. I could not ONCE upload a video to my walkman that actually showed up. Frequented many online discussion forums to no avail

Summary -> much better value than an ipod nano, plus has a more tactile interface given that the nano has moved to a small touchscreen. Also great for those who hate itunes like me. But for that 1/2 cost savings, you get a device that is a bit buggy and has poor battery life
